With its iconic, unmistakable design and rubber-burning capabilities, the 2021 Dodge Challenger is an all-American car and, thanks to a wide range of engine options and available upgrades, you can create the perfect Challenger.
As we've already mentioned, the 2021 Challenger is all about options. Depending on trim level, output ranges from 303 horsepower all the way up to a blistering 807 horses. The Challenger’s high-performance extras, including launch control and six-piston Brembo brakes, also puts some major distance between it and the competition.
Wherever you go in the 2021 Dodge Challenger, people will take note; every Challenger trim model features the same sculpted body, with muscular molding and an imposing grille. Flashy colors—like Indigo Blue, Octane Red, and F8 Green— will let everyone know you’ve arrived. Add special exterior features, like 20-inch wheels, for an even flashier ride.
Drivers who want both an American muscle car and a roomy interior often look to the Challenger; it certainly puts the Mustang and Camaro to shame with its spacious backseat. The front seats are also roomy and supportive, keeping you nice and snug as you speed around town. Cargo capacity is also pretty practical, coming in at 16.2 cubic feet. The Challenger’s options list is home to plenty of luxuries, too, like leather upholstery and a heated steering wheel.
Besides being roomy and comfortable, the 2021 Challenger is undeniably tech-savvy. Each of these sports coupes comes standard with Dodge’s Uconnect infotainment system and smartphone integration features with a fast-acting touch screen that makes it a pleasure to use. To give your listening experience a little extra kick, check out the optional premium stereo systems, one from Alpine and one from Harman Kardon. Thanks to optional conveniences like remote engine start and navigation, the Challenger makes everyday driving feel easy-breezy.
To help you stay out of trouble, this Dodge speedster comes standard with danger-sensing equipment, including automatic emergency braking and a tire pressure monitor. Options like the blind-spot monitor help you keep an extra eye out for traffic-related issues.
With so many powertrain configurations available, EPA ratings for the 2021 Dodge Challenger can’t help but vary. The line’s base engine, the 3.6-liter V6, is also its thriftiest, however, helping the Challenger earn up to 23 mpg combined (19 city/30 highway mpg).
As you might expect, the SRT models, with their bigger, more powerful engines, aren’t as thrifty. On the other end of the spectrum, the 6.2-liter V8 powered SRT Widebody with the automatic transmission is the line’s least thrifty performer. It is EPA-rated to earn 15 mpg combined (13/21 mpg).
The entry-level Challenger SXT gets things off to a great start. In addition to its powerful V6 engine, the SXT is comfy (with a power-adjustable driver seat) and smart (with complete Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities).
The GT adds to the SXT lineup with a sharper performance, courtesy of its sports-tuned suspension and steering. Paddle shifters, mounted on the steering wheel, give drivers the power to downshift on demand, creating the opportunity for a speedier performance.
The R/T adds to the GT’s sporty features with V8 power and performance.
The R/T Scat Pack is still sportier and more powerful. Thanks to its bigger 485-horsepower V8 engine and Brembo performance brakes, you’ll be as quick to get going as you are secure in your stopping power. Inside, you’ll find additional creature comforts, including a heated steering wheel and heated front seats.
Add the Widebody package to the R/T Scat pack for a range of features designed to create better road grip and a sturdier overall performance.
R/T features, plus:
At the Hellcat level, blistering speed is a given. In addition to its 717-horsepower supercharged V8, this Dodge Challenger turns up the heat with a long list of performance features.
Add the Widebody package to your SRT Hellcat for a sturdier performance with maximum grip.
SRT Hellcat features, plus:
The Hellcat Redeye is even quicker than the Hellcat. Its version of the Challenger’s supercharged V8 makes 797 horses, a feature that will have you looking forward to your weekends at the track.
Add the Widebody package to the SRT Hellcat Redeye for a ride that’s both excessively fast and fastened to the pavement, with wider wheels and exclusive suspension tuning.
SRT Hellcat Redeye features, plus:
Just when you thought the Challenger couldn’t get any faster, the SRT Super Stock shows up. This all-new model was specially designed to enhance performance on the drag strip, giving you more horsepower and upgraded brakes. It also comes standard with the features from the Widebody package for an extra-firm grip on the pavement.
Every Dodge Challenger includes an extensive warranty. No matter which trim model or powertrain you select, your brand new sports coupe includes:
The 2021 Challenger is part of the line’s third generation, introduced for the 2008 model year. Although it’s due for a redesign in the near future, we’re not sure exactly when that will be. We’ve heard rumors about a new model for 2023 or 2024, but Dodge has yet to announce any solid plans.
