The world’s best-selling sports car, Ford Mustang, adds to its lineup of performance vehicles for 2021 with the return of the limited-edition Mustang Mach 1 fastback coupe. After ending its previous run in 2004, the Mach 1 is once again back to the Mustang family. It is equipped with a brand-new front end, wings and spoilers from the powerful Shelby GT500, and flashes black stripes with contrasting colors to make your Mustang stand-out. Under the hood the Mach 1 offers a great performance, with a little extra oomph than the Mustang GT.
With varying body styles between coupes and convertibles, the 2021 Ford Mustang is set to release a total of nine trim levels.
Exterior color options include:
Satin Black side and hood stripes are included with reflective accent stripes in any of three colors: Red, White, and Orange (Appearance Package)
Its track performance improves and provides a more aggressive appearance with a front splitter optimized to the fascia and 19-inch wheels. The fascia features new side grilles below each turn signal lamp. A low-gloss Magnetic pony badge is centered on the grill and includes low-gloss Magnetic mirror caps and rear spoiler. The Mach 1 also boasts a new 4.5-inch exhaust tailpipe that Ford says lends it a distinctive tone.
The new Mustang is more luxurious than ever before, with available premium features such as cooled and heated front seats, plus an impressive cargo hold. If you need to carry more, the back seat will easily fold down, carrying up to 12 carry-on bags. It also has the most interior storage space among rivals and features the biggest center-console bin. The interior features a unique Dark Spindrift instrument panel with aluminum accents. Upgraded leather, new door sill plates, an updated splash screen on the 12.3-inch all-LCD instrument cluster, a white cue ball shift knob, and engraved badging that displays the vehicle’s unique chassis number are available options.
The 2021 Ford Mustang offers several engine choices, but the Mach 1 becomes the most track-capable 5.0-liter V8 Mustang ever. It produces 480 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 420 lb. -ft. of torque at 4,600 rpm and comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission from the Shelby GT350. Buyers can also opt for an available 10-speed automatic transmission with an upgraded torque converter that optimizes its performance.
You can go faster and feel safer with Mustang’s array of available driver-assistance technology.
Every Mach 1 comes standard with the SYNC 3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, and USB. Ford Sync Connect that allows users to control and monitor their vehicle through a smartphone app is standard.
After seventeen years of hibernation, the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 has made a comeback. It’s sleek design and high-performance engine is set for the racetrack, but if you don’t care about the lap times and care more about sporty everyday driving, Ford offers beautiful bodywork and a practical interior. It offers something for everyone.
