The 2021 Chevrolet Bolt is simple, convenient, and ready to take you where you want to go. It is affordable, great for the environment, and will take you farther than you think.
The newly redesigned 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV is here, serving up a roomy, tech-centric cabin, impressive all-electric range, and more premium materials than ever before. Better yet, Chevy has lowered the Bolt’s starting MSRP by more than $5,000 compared to previous models.
Chevrolet’s all-electric hatchback is quick to get going and easy to recharge. Indeed, this year Chevy is partnering with Qmerit to install 240-volt power outlets in drivers’ homes for free. By taking advantage of this perk, you’ll be able to charge your Bolt at a faster rate, refilling the battery in nine hours.
You can also install a special charging station and equipment to accommodate an upgraded onboard charger that draws up to 11 kilowatts (doing so drops charging time to seven hours).
Every Bolt is also DC fast-charge capable: simply stop at a DC Fast Charging station to add about 100 miles’ worth of driving for every 30 minutes of charging. DC Fast Charging stations are easy to find, too; there are more than 4,400 of them out there, and your myChevrolet app can direct you to the nearest one.
Your myChevrolet app keeps track of the more than 80,000 public charging stations in North America. This technology makes it easy to plan long road trips or take an unexpected detour to the nearest station. With its click-to-charge feature, you can even use the app to pay for public charging.
The Bolt EV also offers a one-pedal driving system. Simply press a button to activate the system and increase regenerative braking, sending power that would normally escape during deceleration straight back to your battery pack.
For 2022, the Bolt EV gets a whole new look. It’s still a sporty hatchback, but this new Bolt has an extra-modern feel, with a new front-end design and new front and rear signature lighting. The Bolt’s textured, body-colored grille lets the world know you’re driving an EV.
Standard:
Chevy’s all-electric hatchback is welcoming, with a roomy cabin that comfortably supports up to five passengers. If you’ve got an hour-long commute ahead of you, you’ll appreciate the Bolt’s newly redesigned front seats, with their cushy padding and supportive contours. Just like in previous models, this new Bolt accommodates all shapes and sizes, with generous head and legroom in both rows.
You’ll love the Bolt’s 8-inch configurable gauge cluster and redesigned instrument panel. These interfaces are neatly organized and easy to use without distracting you from traffic; a new electronic gear shift combines nifty push buttons and pull toggles.
The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV is also loaded with all the latest and greatest infotainment gear. This year, Chevy’s Infotainment 3 system replaces the unique user interface used in previous Bolt models. The 10.2-inch touch screen remains the same and this Bolt adds wireless connectivity for its Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone features.
Use the newly optional In-Vehicle Apps system to add extra apps — including Alexa, Spotify, and the Weather Channel — to your Infotainment 3 system. Alexa users can access a long list of hands-free features, including navigation, audiobooks, and smart home controls.
Every Bolt EV comes standard with a bundle of high-tech safety aids. That means you get features like Lane Keep Assist and automatic emergency braking to help keep you out of trouble. High-tech upgrades, including an HD Surround Vision and Rear Park Assist, help you glide into a narrow parking space. And the adaptive cruise control system automatically adjusts your speed to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead.
There are two Bolt EV trim models:the 1LT and 2LT. The entry-level 1LT is nicely stocked with spacious seating and cutting-edge tech features and the 2LT adds additional luxuries and safety features.
The Bolt EV will impress you with its standard features lineup. The 1LT’s HD rear view camera helps you back out of your driveway with maximum visibility and the Chevy Safety Assist Package, (which includes automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection), can help you avoid any issues. This Bolt also includes Chevy’s Infotainment 3 system, which now comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
You’ll love the 2LT’s classy take on cruising. The eight-way power driver seat helps you find that perfect spot at the wheel, and leather upholstery adds a touch of luxury. Upgraded safety aids include an HD Surround Vision camera, which offers a top-down look at the Bolt as you navigate parallel parking spaces.

Chevy’s warranty coverage will keep your 2022 Bolt EV zipping along for years to come. Every trim model features the same warranty, which includes eight years or 100,000 miles of electric powertrain coverage.
