Using a 10-speed automatic transmission, the Navigator’s turbocharged V6 engine sends 450 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels. Thanks to its high-strength aluminum-alloy body panels, this big SUV is surprisingly light on its feet, helping you accelerate faster, navigate a tight spot, and tow a bigger boat.

Exterior Features

One glance at this full-size luxury SUV and you know you’re looking at something special: with its tall, long body, the 2021 Lincoln Navigator is certainly imposing. Stylish flourishes, like power running boards, LED headlights, and 20-inch wheels also let everyone know you’ve arrived. Or, when you approach with the key in your pocket, the Navigator’s star logo and puddle lamps will illuminate to welcome you.

Optional exterior features give the Navigator an extra splash of style. During daytime drives, the panoramic sunroof fills the spacious cabin with natural light and at night, the illuminated power running boards help you find your footing.

Shoppers can also choose between standard and extended body-length versions of the Navigator; the latter provides greater interior space for passengers and cargo.

As you might expect from such an imposing SUV, the Lincoln Navigator cabin is absolutely gigantic. Space is ample in all three rows of seating, with accommodations for up to eight passengers. This high-end SUV is also very tech-savvy: the latest Navigator is fully loaded with all the latest smartphone integration technology, including hands-free access to apps via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Sync 3 system also displays your maps, music, and other apps on the 10-inch central touch screen. You can also configure the digital gauge cluster to display the data you want to see.

The optional 20-speaker Revel audio system is specially designed to take advantage of the Navigator’s unique interior acoustics. Its three listening modes — stereo, audience, and on-stage — play to your current mood.

Safety and Security

The 2021 Navigator actively helps you avoid on-road trouble, with a collection of mitigating driver aids. The Forward Collision System includes Automatic Emergency Braking, actively hitting the brakes when it senses an oncoming accident; the Blind-Spot Monitoring System also frequently comes in handy. Additionally, the Lane Keeping System knows when you’ve accidentally strayed outside the lines, and it gently corrects your course.

Towing Capabilities

The 2021 Lincoln Navigator, when properly equipped, can tow up to 8,700 pounds meaning you can take a boat, horse trailer, or camper to just about any place you’d like.

What Comes Next for the Lincoln Navigator?

After a redesign for the 2018 model year, the Navigator is ready for a refresh. Spy shots of the 2022 Lincoln Navigator suggest subtle exterior updates and inside, the upcoming model will feature a huge, horizontal 10-inch touch-screen infotainment interface. We’re not sure about powertrain details just yet, but we’re hoping to see a version of the awesome hybrid powertrain that the F-150 rolled out for 2021 — something that’s both refined and highly capable.
