What’s New for 2021?

The brand new version of this luxury SUV now comes standard with two important driver safety aids: Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Departure Mitigation. The former system maintains a safe distance from the vehicle ahead of you, adjusting your speed as necessary. While the latter system senses when you’ve accidentally steered outside the lines, and it gently moves you back into the proper lane.

This year, the QX80 also rolls out a new trim model lineup. Now, shoppers can choose between three main trim levels: Luxe, Premium Select, and Sensory.

QX80 Exterior

When you’re rolling through town, this full-size luxury SUV has a commanding presence, thanks to both its sheer size and upscale style. Every trim model comes standard with eye-catching features, including LED headlights and 20-inch wheels. The power liftgate—which is also standard—is another favorite feature, making access to your sports gear and shopping bags quick and simple. Depending on your personal tastes, you can also add extra-stylish flair, with bigger, 22-inch wheels and special dark chrome exterior trim.

QX80 Interior

If you guessed that the QX80 cabin is roomy and stylish, you’d be correct. This three-row, full-size SUV is more than suitable for big families who crave luxurious interior appointments. All three rows of seating enhance comfort with generous passenger space and leather upholstery, and the driver and front passenger seats are extra comfy, with power adjustments and seat heating. The tri-zone climate control system is another excellent comfort feature, maintaining three different temperate zones, perfect for families who can’t agree on the perfect temperature.

As you climb the QX80 trim models, levels of luxury only go up: this upscale cabin offers everything from quilted leather seating to handsome wood trim. An optional advanced climate control system provides extra filtration, creating an extra clean interior atmosphere.

Power and Performance

Every QX80 features the same hefty powertrain, a 5.6-liter V8 that powers the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission. This 400-horsepower engine is more than capable of getting even this heavy SUV up to speed quickly.

With the optional four-wheel-drive system, your QX80 is even more capable. You can use the extra traction to navigate sand, mud, and sleet with the best of them.

The optional Hydraulic Body Motion Control System (HBMC) amplifies ride comfort, especially when you’re bouncing down an off-road trail or leaning around a sharp turn. On rocky roads, HBMC helps keep vibrations from disturbing passenger comfort and around turns, the system levels out the cabin, reducing the sinking feeling inside the turn.

Towing Capacity

Depending on equipment, the 2021 INFINITI QX80 can tow max loads of 8,500 pounds. That means it’s nicely suited to a wide range of extra curricular activities like a wide range of boats, a pair of Jet Skis, or a horse trailer.

EPA ratings vary slightly, depending on whether you choose to add four-wheel drive to your QX80.
