Power and Performance
Chevrolet’s all-electric hatchback is quick to get going and easy to recharge. Indeed, this year Chevy is partnering with Qmerit to install 240-volt power outlets in drivers’ homes for free. By taking advantage of this perk, you’ll be able to charge your Bolt at a faster rate, refilling the battery in nine hours.
You can also install a special charging station and equipment to accommodate an upgraded onboard charger that draws up to 11 kilowatts (doing so drops charging time to seven hours).
Every Bolt is also DC fast-charge capable: simply stop at a DC Fast Charging station to add about 100 miles’ worth of driving for every 30 minutes of charging. DC Fast Charging stations are easy to find, too; there are more than 4,400 of them out there, and your myChevrolet app can direct you to the nearest one.
Your myChevrolet app keeps track of the more than 80,000 public charging stations in North America. This technology makes it easy to plan long road trips or take an unexpected detour to the nearest station. With its click-to-charge feature, you can even use the app to pay for public charging.
The Bolt EV also offers a one-pedal driving system. Simply press a button to activate the system and increase regenerative braking, sending power that would normally escape during deceleration straight back to your battery pack.
